Support Joddie O'Shea's children.

Supporting a disadvantaged child breaks the cycle of poverty. Your help will ensure JOS children, whether under our roof or reunified with family, live decently and continue their education.

62 JOS children are living with their families and 6 children living at the Jodie O’Shea facilities. A number of these children have supporters who provide financial means, so JOS can take care of needs such as education (including school fees, uniforms, books, and shoes), food, transportation (if needed), health insurance, and family empowerment.

As a supporter you can make a difference for the child you help.

"JOS-B14B" is a 14 years old boy from Bali. He and his older brother had been living at JOS since 2010 until he and his brother reunited in August 2020. Now he lives with his younger brother and her mother in a small rented room in Bali. His mother works as a shop attendant and is paid half of minimum wage and it is hard for her to support these boys' basic needs such as education and food. He is an introverted boy and loves to play soccer. He needs support  with education fee, food, clothing and also accommodation cost for him to be able to live with his mother. His favorite subject is English, and his favorite food is pizza. He likes soccer, and has a dream to become a professional soccer player.

The Stop Orphanages Campaign is an initiative spearheaded by Westerlaken Foundation and Yayasan Bali Bersih. Its primary objective is to combat the exploitation of children and the use of orphanages as a means of personal gain, and children as a marketing tool. While we acknowledge that there are Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA) in Indonesia that genuinely prioritize the well-being of children, extensive research reveals that a majority of orphanages in Bali, Indonesia operate in violation of the National Standard for Child Welfare Institutions (30/HUK/2011). This standard explicitly prohibits the institutionalization of children based on poverty or limited access to education, as well as emphasizes the importance of empowering families and preventing the recruitment of children into orphanages.
