G20 Event in Nusa Dua, Bali



Monday (08/08) Westerlaken Foundation was invited to join one of the G20 Side Event Development Working Group titled ‘Blue Carbon: Enabling Conservation and Financial Capital', which is held in Bali Nusa Dua Convenient Centre. The forum was opened with a keynote speech by Jiro Tominaga, the Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ABD) for Indonesia. And the panellist to the forum are Deputy Country Director Agence Francaise De Developpement (AFD) for Indonesia, Sophie Chappellet and Prof. Shaw K. Chen from the University of Rhode Island. They emphasised the crucial function of coastal conservation areas such as mangroves, coral reefs, and seagrass (meadow) as carbon emission storage and the importance of standardised carbon pricing and policy in Indonesia.
